WOW Standing Committees
FOR YOUR EDUCATION & READING PLEASURE!
This is a list of Board committees (listed in alphabetical order). The President appoints members to these committees each January or when deemed necessary to further the objectives of the organization and its members. Committee members or individuals need not be Trustees, but those not having a Board member as Chair will have one appointed as a liaison.
Budget & Finance Committee
• Chaired by the Treasurer, it will consist of three to five members for two-year terms. This committee will oversee and monitor the fiscal operations of the organization, develop an annual budget for recommendation to the Board, develop and assist in the implementation of a funding strategy for the organization. They will also prepare and present the financial information required for an annual audit.
• Chaired by the CDSA Coordinator. This position oversees State Ambassadors/Chapter Directors. The committee will assist the CD/SA Coordinator in carrying out her duties as described in BOT Handbook Section III – Part 7.
• This committee receives the trustee election ballots, counts the ballots, certifies the results, and reports the results to the President and the Secretary. It consists of at least two full members of Women On Wheels® who are not candidates in the election.
Executive Committee – By-Laws
• Chaired by the President, it consists of the Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer. This committee serves as the central planning group for the organization and as an advisory group to the Board of Trustees. It also has full authority to act for the Board in managing the affairs of the corporation during the intervals between Board meetings should the need arise.
