Hello everyone from Sweet Home Alabama! This issue of SG I wanted to share some information regarding the 2017 Women On Wheels® Ride-In™ that will be held in beautiful Colorado Springs, July 4, 5, 6! Your Ride-In Committee has been hard at work planning fun routes and events for you to enjoy. We are hoping for a big turn-out and wanted to answer any questions you might have.
Things to know when booking your hotel room at the Hotel Elegante’ Conference and Event Center: For those who travel with a pet or service animal, yes you can bring them, but there is a fee to have a pet in your room. The pet fee is a one-time fee of $50 per pet (limit two) for up to three days, and after three days its $75 per pet.
As in years past, you need to wait until January 1, 2017, to make your reservation to get the WOW rate (by the time you read this, it will probably be after January 1). When you call to make your reservation, or reserve a room online, make sure to mention Women On Wheels® to get the discounted rate $99.00 for a double queen or a king room (plus applicable taxes and fees). You can reserve up to two rooms per person. If you wish to have an indoor or outdoor poolside room, they are available for an additional $10 on top of the WOW special rate. All reservations must be guaranteed with a major credit card. Should you need to cancel your room reservation, you must cancel no later than 24 hours prior to your scheduled arrival to avoid a cancellation fee of your first night’s room and tax.
If you decide to leave the hotel early, meaning you decide to check-out prior to your scheduled reservation check out date, there is an early departure fee of $75. If you wish to avoid this fee, you MUST advise the hotel at or before check-in of any change in your scheduled length of stay.
If you are driving an RV to the Hotel and wish to ‘dry camp’ in the parking lot, there is a dirt lot/area where you can park the RV. Guests can park in the dirt lot for $35 a day, which also gives you access to all of the amenities of the hotel. You can pay the front desk when you arrive. If you wish to drive your RV to the hotel and stay in one of the rooms at the hotel, there is no charge to park your RV outside. There are a bunch of RV parks in the Colorado Springs area; check the WOW website for details.
